Erinoks Festival

On the heels of Woodstock’s 40th anniversary comes Milton’s very own outdoor music festival.
Low Key Fest will be held Saturday, Aug. 29 from noon to 10 p. m. at
the sprawling, 42-acre Karlovac Park, 1860 Thompson Rd. S., south of
Britannia Road.
The festival will feature a variety of GTA punk acts including The
Artist Life, Dead City Citizens, Diemonds, HYFY, Keepin’ 6 and No Right
The family-friendly festival is equipped with an enclosed stage, a fully licensed bar, washrooms and plenty of parking.
Tickets cost $20 each.
The event is a fundraiser for ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and
Development, which annually cares for almost 9,000 kids with
disabilities and their families in regions including Halton.
“Summer is finally here, so it’s a time to have an outdoor summer
party to help these kids,” said Anissa Hilborn, president of the
ErinoakKids Foundation.
Included in the line-up of performers will be ErinoakKids’ own
in-house rock band, Superfire, which recently launched its first CD and
is part of the centre’s music therapy program.
“Some of the guys in Superfire have disabilities; some are
volunteers,” said ErinoakKids Music Therapist William Murray. “At the
fest they’ll do what they do best — showcase their abilities along with
their friends in all the bands who will be there to rock out for the
The event has been organized by two brothers, Anthony and Chris Hajsan, whose cousin was helped by ErinoakKids.
“I play in a band and I know people in other bands,” Anthony said. “We wanted to help more children.”
The idea of a music festival resonated with his bandmates and others
in the local music scene, including a number of bands that jumped at
the chance to put their music to work for kids with disabilities.
